"Significant leap": the developer of War Thunder and Crossout discussed plans for the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5

Gaijin Entertainment CEO Anton Yudintsev in an interview with Wccftech discussed the next generation Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 consoles, which will go on sale by the end of 2020. In his opinion, they will provide a "more significant jump" in performance and graphics than the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at one time.

“While a lot of information has been disclosed at the moment, developers are still not allowed to comment much,” he said. “Obviously a faster SSD will speed up game session loading (which is already very fast in our games) and more processing power will make games graphics better. Let's just say that each platform has its own features, they are both powerful and will definitely provide a new level of gaming experience. If you compare the current generation with the previous one, and then the publicly available information about the next generation of hardware with the current one, you will notice a more significant leap on numerous fronts. So this is an exciting time for developers and gamers."

Yudintsev was also asked if Gaijin Entertainment's current games - and these are War Thunder, Crossout and Cuisine Royale - will be released on next-gen consoles.

“Yes, it is very likely that we will optimize and improve [games on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5]. It's just too early to go into the details of what we plan to do with the next generation of consoles, ”he replied.

Additionally, Enlisted (an upcoming free-to-play shooter set in World War II) is likely to skip the previously announced Xbox One version and go straight to Xbox Series X.

“During development, the requirements for hardware increased. Potentially, we will explore the possibility of releasing the game on Xbox One, but at the moment the main task is to develop the game for PC and next generation consoles,” Yudintsev said.
