As is known, Microsoft is currently developing the Edge browser based on Chromium, trying to offer users and companies numerous tools, including compatibility mode with Internet Explorer. This is expected to help corporate users utilize existing and already outdated services in the new browser. However, the developers in Redmond do not intend to completely remove Internet Explorer from Windows […]
According to industry sources in Taiwan referenced by the online resource DigiTimes, the Chinese memory manufacturer ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT) is actively preparing its lines for the mass production of LPDDR4 memory. ChangXin, also known as Innotron Memory, reportedly developed its own DRAM manufacturing process using 19-nanometer technology standards. The commercial release of the memory is expected soon.
The philosophy of DevOps, where development connects with software maintenance, is no longer surprising anyone. A new trend is gaining momentum — DevOps 2.0 or BizDevOps. It unifies three components: business, development, and support. Just as in DevOps, engineering practices form the basis for the connection between development and support, in BizDevOps, analytics takes on the role of unifying these elements.
A group of researchers from Graz University of Technology (Austria), previously known for their work on MDS, NetSpectre, and Throwhammer attack methods, has revealed details about a new side-channel analysis technique that allows for the precise identification of the browser version, operating system, CPU architecture, and the use of extensions to combat hidden identification. The specified parameters can be determined simply by running a prepared JavaScript code in the browser.
MCST has posted download links for the latest version of the development platform for Elbrus processors: PDK "Elbrus" 4.0, on its website. The platform is freely available for PCs based on x86-64 architecture processors. It enables cross-platform development and adaptation of software. If an application has been successfully built from source code on x86-64, it should compile without issues on Elbrus.
With this magical piece of script, Cisco ACI can quickly set up the network. The network fabric for Cisco ACI has been around for five years, but not much has been detailed about it on Habr, so I've decided to correct that a bit. I'll share my experience regarding what it is, what benefits it offers, and where the pitfalls lie.
Part 1. About CPU In this article, we will discuss RAM performance counters in vSphere. Memory issues in VMs are typically more noticeable than CPU ones: if performance problems arise, they are hard to miss. However, once they appear, managing them becomes much more difficult. But let's address everything in order. A bit of theory RAM […]
A recent article effectively highlights trends in machine learning over the past few years. In short, the number of startups in the machine learning field has sharply declined over the last two years. So, let's analyze whether "the bubble has burst," how to move forward, and discuss the reasons behind this downturn. First, let's talk about what was the booster for this trend. How did it come about? Perhaps everyone will recall […]
A corporate conflict arose on June 10, 2019, due to the rising cost of SMS delivery to users on the VimpelCom network by Mail.RU Group. In response, Mail.RU Group stopped "servicing" direct Russian IP channels towards the VimpelCom network. Below is a brief analysis of the situation from a network engineer's perspective. Update: June 14, 2019, 18:45 — focus on Russian routes to the VimpelCom network, conclusions adjusted, additional explanations added by Sergey […]
Dear friends, in previous articles, we discussed — what wisdom teeth are and how the removal of these teeth occurs. Today, I would like to diverge a bit and talk about implantation, specifically immediate implantation — when the implant is placed directly into the socket of the extracted tooth, and about sinus lifting — increasing the volume of bone tissue […]
On June 11, 2019, the developers of the Matrix.org Foundation announced the release of Matrix 1.0 — a protocol for implementing a federated network based on a linear event history within a directed acyclic graph (DAG). The most common application of the protocol is the implementation of messaging servers (such as the Synapse server, Riot client) and the 'connecting' of different protocols through bridges (for example, implementation on libpurple [...])
Security researchers from Cybereason have warned mail server administrators about a mass automated attack exploiting a critical vulnerability (CVE-2019-10149) in Exim, discovered last week. During the attack, attackers gain code execution with root privileges and install malware for cryptocurrency mining on the server. According to the June automated survey, Exim holds 57.05% market share (year [...])
