Unpleasant news that we have been anticipating. On May 5th, new rules for identifying messengers users by phone number came into effect in the Russian Federation. The corresponding government decree was published on November 6, 2018. Now, Russian users will need to confirm that the phone number they are using belongs to them. During the identification process, the messenger will send a request to the mobile operator […]
At one time, Internet Explorer 6 was quite popular. It's hard to believe, but 10 years ago it held one-fifth of the market share. It was used both in Russia and abroad, predominantly by government agencies, banks, and similar organizations. It seemed like 'the six' would never end. However, its demise was accelerated by YouTube. Moreover, without approval from […]

Hello, %username%! It's evening again, and once more I find myself with nothing to do, so I've decided to spend some time writing the third part of my series on poisons. I hope you've read the first and second parts and enjoyed them. In the third part, we'll take a little break. There won't be a discussion about the poisons you encounter on a daily basis — probably even […]
The use of 3D printing is no longer surprising to anyone. Objects can be printed at home and at work using both metal and plastic. The only thing left is to reduce the nozzle resolution and increase the variety of source materials. There is still a lot of work to be done in each of these areas. Researchers led by […] have reported another achievement in 3D printing enhancement.
Hello Habr. It's already the 21st century, and it seems that data can be transmitted in HD quality even to Mars. It’s impossible to cover all of them, of course, but we will try to select the most interesting ones that can be received and decoded independently using a computer. For […]

Hello, Habr! For ten years I have been supporting Highload IT systems. I won’t write in this article about the issues of configuring nginx for operation at 1000+ RPS or other technical matters. I will share my observations on the problems in the processes that arise in the support and operation of such systems. Monitoring Technical Support does not wait for a request that says 'Why… […]
I noticed this error (or, if you prefer, discrepancy) while checking the translation for NETGEAR switches. The fact is that when translating the term 'trunk', one must necessarily consider which vendor's interpretation is being adhered to — Cisco or HP, as there is a significant technical difference between them.
