Mozilla has announced that support for 32-bit Linux systems will end with the Firefox 145 release, scheduled for November 11, 2025. It has been noted that maintaining Firefox on 32-bit platforms is becoming increasingly complex and unreliable, especially as support for 32-bit builds has already been dropped in most Linux distributions. Users of 32-bit Linux distributions are encouraged to switch to 64-bit operating systems. For […]
The Openwall project has released the LKRG 1.0.0 kernel module (Linux Kernel Runtime Guard), designed to verify the integrity of kernel structures and detect attempts to exploit vulnerabilities in the kernel. It is noted that the assignment of version number 1.0.0 marks the project reaching a mature state. The project's code is distributed under the GPLv2 license. The module is suitable for protection against attacks exploiting already known vulnerabilities in the Linux kernel, […]

The release candidate for GNOME 49 has been presented — the last test release before the scheduled release on September 17. The published test release is notable for reversing a previously made change that disabled the default compilation of components for X11 support in the GDM (GNOME Display Manager). Initially, GNOME 49 intended to disable X11 support by default in GDM but leave the option to launch […]
