Installation builds for x86_64 and ARM64 (Aarch64) architectures are available for download, along with ready-to-use system images for virtualization systems. The openSUSE Leap Micro distribution is based on the technologies of the project […]
Google has introduced a new open project, Vanir, which develops a static analyzer for automatically detecting unapplied patches that address vulnerabilities. Vanir uses a signature database containing information about known vulnerabilities and patches to eliminate these vulnerabilities. This database has been maintained by Google since July 2020 and covers 95% of vulnerabilities in Android-related projects, including the kernel […]
Collabora has introduced the Linux distribution Apertis 2024.3, initially created for automotive devices but later repurposed for a wider range of electronic devices, embedded systems, and industrial equipment. Devices that use Apertis include the Atari VCS gaming console and the Bosch D-tect 200 scanner for detecting objects in walls. Base system images are available for x86_64 and arm64 architectures […]

The new version of the minimalist distribution Alpine Linux 3.21 has been released. It includes initial support for the Loongarch64 architecture. Among the less significant changes are updates to package versions: Linux 6.12, KDE 6.2, GNOME 47, and others. Alpine Linux is built on musl libc and busybox, making it small and very resource-efficient. The container requires no more than 8 MB, and for […]
Linux kernel 6.12 has been designated as a Long-Term Support branch. Updates for branch 6.12 will be released at least until December 2026, but it is possible that, as with previous LTS branches, the support period may be extended to six years. For regular kernel releases, updates are only issued until the next stable branch is released (for example, updates for […]
