On February 27, a new version of the popular messaging server ejabberd was released. Ejabberd supports the XMPP and MQTT protocols and is written in the Erlang programming language. The main innovation of this release is the previously announced support for federation with servers via the Matrix protocol. Thus, users of ejabberd servers will be able to transparently exchange messages with Matrix users just as they would with other users […]
The company has presented for discussion on the Linux kernel developers mailing list the code for an LSM module implementing the Integrity Policy Enforcement (IPE) mechanism, which expands existing mandatory access control systems. The implementation of the interface is available in the source code, but […]
Researchers from JFrog have discovered malicious machine learning models in the Hugging Face repository, the installation of which can allow an attacker to execute code and gain control over the user's system. The issue arises because some model distribution formats allow the embedding of executable code; for example, models using the "pickle" format can include serialized objects in Python, as well as executing code.

Ready builds are available for Linux, macOS, Windows, Android, and FreeBSD. From personal experience, RAR7 still lags behind LZMA2 in compression ratio when using dictionaries up to 4GB, but offers significantly higher compression speed and support for […]
