The release of the postmarketOS 21.12 project, developing a Linux distribution for smartphones based on the Alpine Linux package base, the standard C library Musl, and the BusyBox utility set, has been presented. The goal of the project is to provide a Linux distribution for smartphones that is independent of the support lifecycle of official firmware and not tied to the typical solutions of major industry players that dictate the development vector. Builds are prepared for PINE64 PinePhone, […]
The release of the compact wolfSSL 5.1.0 cryptographic library, optimized for use on embedded devices with limited CPU and memory resources, such as Internet of Things devices, smart home systems, automotive information systems, routers, and mobile phones, has been prepared. The code is written in C and is distributed under the GPLv2 license. The library provides high-performance implementations of modern cryptographic algorithms, including ChaCha20, Curve25519, NTRU, RSA, […]
The Openwall project has released version 0.9.2 of the LKRG (Linux Kernel Runtime Guard) kernel module, designed to detect and block attacks and integrity violations of kernel structures. For example, the module can protect against unauthorized changes to a running kernel and attempts to alter user process privileges (identifying the application of exploits). The module is suitable for safeguarding against exploits of already known kernel vulnerabilities […]
