Hello again!.. With the upcoming launch of the "Software Architect" course, we have prepared another useful translation. Service Mesh is a configurable infrastructure layer with low latency, needed to handle a large volume of network interprocess communications between application programming interfaces (APIs). Service Mesh ensures fast, reliable, and secure communication between containerized and often ephemeral services within application infrastructure. […]
The release of Wi-Fi daemon IWD 1.8 (iNet Wireless Daemon) is now available, developed by Intel as an alternative to wpa_supplicant for connecting Linux systems to a wireless network. IWD can be used standalone or as a backend for network configurators such as Network Manager and ConnMan. The project is suitable for embedded devices and optimized for minimal power consumption […]
The new release of Dropbear 2020.79, a compact SSH server and client, distributed under the MIT license and primarily used on embedded systems such as wireless routers, has been introduced. Dropbear is characterized by low memory usage (with static linking to uClibc, it takes only 110kB), the ability to disable unnecessary functionality at the build stage, and support for building the client and server in a single executable file […]

I spent the first quarter of 2020 preparing for the OSCP exam. Searching for information on Google and numerous "blind" attempts took up all my free time. It turned out to be especially challenging to understand privilege escalation mechanisms. The PWK course pays great attention to this topic, but there are always not enough methodological materials. There are plenty of manuals online with useful commands, but I […]
In this article, I will share my experience setting up CI/CD using the Plesk control panel and GitHub Actions. Today we will learn how to deploy a simple project called "Helloworld." It is written on the Python framework Flask, with workers on Celery and a frontend on Angular 8. Links to the repositories: backend, frontend. In the first part of the article, we will look at our project […]
Hello, Habr. I continue the series of articles on VxLAN EVPN technology, which were written specifically for the launch of the "Network Engineer" course from OTUS. Today, we will consider an interesting part of the tasks — routing. Although it may sound trivial, within the framework of a network fabric, things can be more complicated. Part 1 of the series — L2 connectivity between servers in […]
Nineteen vulnerabilities have been identified in the proprietary Treck TCP/IP stack, which can be exploited by sending specially crafted packets. These vulnerabilities have been given the code name Ripple20. Some vulnerabilities also appear in the KASAGO TCP/IP stack from Zuken Elmic (Elmic Systems), which shares common roots with Treck. The Treck stack is used in many industrial, medical, communication, embedded, and consumer devices (from smart bulbs to printers and […]

Hello everyone, my name is Sergey Emelyanchik. I am the head of the Audit-Telecom company, the lead developer, and the author of the Veliam system. I decided to write an article about how my friend and I created an outsourcing company, developed software for ourselves, and later began distributing it to anyone interested via a SaaS model. About how I categorically did not believe that this […]
