Results of reassembling the Debian package base using Clang 10

Sylvestre Ledru has published the results of rebuilding the Debian GNU/Linux package archive using the Clang 10 compiler instead of GCC. Out of 31,014 packages, 1,400 (4.5%) failed to build, but by applying an additional patch to the Debian toolchain, the number of unbuilt packages was reduced to 1,110 (3.6%). For comparison, when building with Clang 8 and 9, the number of packages that could not be built was higher.

Google has expanded the capabilities of its proprietary security keys on iOS.

Today, Google announced the implementation of W3C WebAuth support for Google accounts on Apple devices running iOS 13.3 and above. This enhances the usability of Google’s encryption hardware keys on iOS and allows for more types of security keys to be used with Google accounts. With this innovation, iOS users can use the Google Titan Security key.

The release of the specialized Tails 4.7 distribution (The Amnesic Incognito Live System), based on the Debian package base and designed for anonymous internet access, has been formed. Anonymous access in Tails is ensured by the Tor system. All connections, except for traffic through the Tor network, are blocked by a packet filter by default. To store user data in a persistent manner between sessions, user data storage is used.
