FreeNAS 11.3 has been released - one of the best distributions for creating network storages. It combines ease of setup and use, reliability of data storage, a modern web interface, and rich functionality. Its main feature is ZFS support.
Along with the new version of the software, updated hardware was also released: TrueNAS X Series ΠΈ M Series based on FreeNAS 11.3.
Key changes in the new version:
- ZFS replication: 8 times faster performance; there is support for parallel execution of tasks; auto-resume interrupted data transfer.
- There was a Wizard for easy installation of iSCSI, SMB, Pools, Networking, Replication.
- Improvements in SMB: user quotas with AD, shadow copies, ACL manager.
- Plugin design improvements.
- Dashboard and Reporting: Now provides faster response and more up-to-date data.
- Configuration Management: The API allows configuration files to be saved and audited.
- Added support for VPN WireGuard.
- The line of TrueNAS servers has been updated.
