Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki spoke about the company's intention to ensure a "smooth transition" from PS4 to PS5. By a smooth transition, he means achieving some kind of balance between production and shipments of the PS5. In addition, he noted that Sony cannot control the "price level" in the next-generation console segment. Sony is likely waiting to announce the price of the Xbox Series X before pricing its PS5 console to keep it competitive.
