Untitled Goose Game won Game of the Year at the 2020 DICE Awards, but Control won the most awards
Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences February 13 summed up 23rd Annual DICE Awards. The main triumph of the evening was the indie sensation Untitled Goose Game.
The adventures of the pest goose received three awards, including the "Game of the Year", but the authors took the most figurines with them Control - they got prizes for the best action, soundtrack, as well as art and game direction.
The developers of Untitled Goose Game from the Australian studio House House have already commented on their triumph, calling what happened an "extremely strange" coincidence.
“This is an incredible, surreal honor. Unfortunately, we weren't able to attend DICE in person and had a hard time making a thank you video [for the award] because looking at the other nominees we didn't even hope to win. We're shocked," stated at House House.
The latest game to win more than one award was Death Stranding. Kojima Productions' experimental action game was unrivaled in the Outstanding Achievement in Audio Design and Outstanding Technical Achievement categories.
