The Law on Personal Data requires the informed consent of citizens to process their personal information for clearly defined purposes. However, various web resources often distribute databases with personal information of Russians without their consent.

The sites phreaker.pro and dublikat.eu were convicted of such illegal activities. β€œThus, the administration of Internet resources violated the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, as well as the requirements of Russian legislation in the field of personal data,” Roskomnadzor said in a statement.

In accordance with the court order, the named web resources were blocked. It is now impossible to get access to them on the territory of the Russian Federation by conventional means.

Roskomnadzor notes that specialists carry out regular monitoring of the Internet space to identify sites and online communities selling databases containing personal data of Russians. Practice shows that in most cases the owners of such resources prefer to remove illegal content without waiting for the blocking.
