We are talking about a system that will provide power up to 100 watts. This, for example, will allow you to fully replenish the energy reserve of a 4000 mAh battery from 0% to 100% in just 17 minutes.
According to Mr. Weibing, the practical use of the Super Charge Turbo system is fraught with a number of difficulties. In particular, high power can lead to a loss of battery capacity.
In addition, there are additional security requirements. And this means that the refinement will affect almost all elements of mobile devices - from the motherboard to the actual design of the charging units.
It was expected that the first Xiaomi smartphones with support for Super Charge Turbo will appear last year. However, later it became known that their entry into the market was delayed.
Mr. Weibing did not name the timing of the practical implementation of 100-watt supercharging. Perhaps the commercialization of the technology will be delayed until next year.
