OpenIndiana offers users a working environment built on a fresh snapshot of the Illumos project codebase. The actual development of OpenSolaris technologies continues with the Illumos project, where the kernel, network stack, file systems, drivers, as well as a basic set of user system utilities and libraries are being developed. Three types of ISO images have been created for download \u2014 a server edition with console applications (877 MB), a minimal build (345 MB), and a build with a MATE graphical environment (1.6 GB).      <\/p>\n<p>Main changes in OpenIndiana 2021.04:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Several options for proprietary NVIDIA drivers are available: 460.67, 390.141 (default), 340.108.\n<li class=\"l\"> The compilers gcc-7, gcc-8, gcc-9, and gcc-10 have been compiled using the SSP (Stack Smashing Protection) mechanism for stack protection (-fstack-protector).\n<li class=\"l\"> The OpenSSL library has been updated to branch 1.1.1.\n<li class=\"l\"> The process of upgrading Python versions and related packages has begun.
