It features a version of FreeBSD optimized for use as a portable desktop, bootable from a USB drive. The graphical environment is based on the Openbox window manager. DSBMD is used for mounting drives (supporting mounting of CD9660, FAT, HFS+, NTFS, Ext2\/3\/4). The size of the boot image is 2.4 GB (x86_64).     <\/p>\n<p>In the latest release, the base environment has been upgraded to FreeBSD 13.0. A new version numbering scheme has been proposed, corresponding to the format FFfX-YYYYMMDD, where \"FFf\" reflects the number of the underlying FreeBSD version, \"X\" indicates the release type (ALPHA \u2014 A, BETA \u2014 B, RELEASE \u2014 R), and YYYYMMDD includes the build date. This new scheme will allow for the creation of images based on different versions of FreeBSD and provide immediate visibility on when a release was prepared and on which FreeBSD version it is based. Additionally, changes include moving to the alignment of disk partitions at a 1M boundary to improve write performance on Flash drives. An issue with GLX shutdown has been resolved.
