The release of the Linux distribution Clonezilla Live 2.7.2 is now available, designed for quick disk cloning (only used blocks are copied). The tasks performed by the distribution are similar to the proprietary product Norton Ghost. The size of the ISO image of the distribution is 308 MB (i686, amd64). <\/p>\n
The distribution is based on Debian GNU\/Linux and utilizes code from projects such as DRBL, Partition Image, ntfsclone, partclone, and udpcast. Booting from CD\/DVD, USB Flash, and over the network (PXE) is possible. LVM2 and file systems ext2, ext3, ext4, reiserfs, reiser4, xfs, jfs, btrfs, f2fs, nilfs2, FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, HFS+, UFS, minix, VMFS3, and VMFS5 (VMware ESX) are supported. A mass cloning mode over the network is available, including traffic transmission in multicast mode, allowing simultaneous cloning of the source disk to a large number of client machines. Cloning from one disk to another, as well as creating backups via saving a disk image to a file, is possible. Cloning can occur at the level of entire disks or individual partitions. <\/p>\n

Synchronization with the Debian Sid package repository has been completed as of May 30.\n
The Linux kernel has been updated to release 5.10.40 (previously 5.9.1), and the system manager systemd to version 248.\n
A new item has been added to the boot menu: 'VGA with large font & To RAM', which uses nomodeset instead of KMS when interacting with the graphics subsystem, in case jfbterm does not work on some graphics cards. The item 'KMS with large font & To RAM' has been moved to a submenu.\n
Before rebooting and shutting down, the ocs-park-disk handler is ensured to be called.\n
Improved handling of Veracrypt encrypted volume headers. Handlers ocs-save-veracrypt-vh and ocs-restore-veracrypt-vh have been added.\n
The vgcfgrestore utility has been updated to include the '--force' option for forcibly restoring metadata.\n
A boot parameter echo_ocs_repository has been added, which, when set to 'no', hides the prompt to mount the repository.\n
In Live mode, sleep and standby modes have been disabled.\n
In ocs-sr and drbl-ocs, the option '-sspt' ('--skip-save-part-table') has been added for saving and restoring the entire disk without separate manipulations with disk partitions.\n
The package jq (similar to sed for JSON data) has been included. <\/ul>\n
