The international OASIS consortium, responsible for the development and promotion of open standards, has approved the final version of the OpenDocument 1.3 (ODF) specification as the OASIS standard. The next step will be to promote OpenDocument 1.3 as an international standard ISO\/IEC. <\/p>\n
ODF is an XML-based file format independent of applications and platforms, designed to store documents containing text, spreadsheets, diagrams, and graphical elements. The specifications also include requirements for reading, writing, and processing such documents in applications. The ODF standard is applicable for creating, editing, viewing, exchanging, and archiving documents that can be text documents, presentations, spreadsheets, raster graphics, vector drawings, diagrams, and other types of content. <\/p>\n
The most notable innovations in OpenDocument 1.3: <\/p>\n

Measures have been implemented to ensure document protection, such as document certification with a digital signature and content encryption using OpenPGP keys;\n
Support for polynomial and sliding average regression types for charts has been added; <\/li>\n
Additional methods for formatting numbers have been implemented; <\/li>\n
A separate type of header and footer for the title page has been added; <\/li>\n
Tools for setting paragraph indents based on context have been defined; <\/li>\n
Additional arguments for the WEEKDAY function have been proposed;\n
Capabilities for tracking changes in documents have been expanded; <\/li>\n
A new type of template for main text in documents has been added. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
The specification consists of four parts: <\/p>\n
