Based on the model, the software determines the operation scenario of the 3D printer during the sequential application of each layer. In the simplest case, you only need to import the model in one of the supported formats (STL, OBJ, X3D, 3MF, BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG), select the speed, material, and quality settings, and send the print job. There are plugins for integration with SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Autodesk Inventor, and other CAD systems. The CuraEngine is used to translate the 3D model into a set of instructions for the 3D printer. The project code is written in Python and distributed under the LGPLv3 license. The GUI is built using the Uranium framework, which utilizes Qt 5.    <\/p>\n<p>In the new release:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> The preview mode features a visualization of material flow.\n<li class=\"l\"> When launched, the loaded plugins are displayed.\n<li class=\"l\"> In the FilamentChange script, a parameter for defining depth (Z position) has been implemented, and the capability to use Marlin M600 configurations has been added.\n<li class=\"l\"> Double-clicking on a file in the Digital Factory project opening dialog now opens that file in Cura.\n<li class=\"l\"> Support has been added for the Volumic, Anycubic Mega X, Anycubic Mega, and eMotionTech Strateo3D 3D printers, as well as for new profiles (Ultimaker PETG) and materials.\n<li class=\"l\"> Support for renaming groups in the object list has been added.\n<li class=\"l\"> The issue causing crashes during scaling in some Linux distributions has been resolved.\n<li class=\"l\"> The modeling mode now includes the ability to estimate the volume of material supplied (mm\u00b3\/second).\n<li class=\"l\"> A plugin for direct import from CAD has been prepared. Supported formats include STEP, IGES, DXF\/DWG, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Inventor, SiemensNX, Siemens Parasolid, Solid Edge, Dassault Spatial, Solidworks, 3D ACIS Modeler, Creo, and Rhinoceros.
