The experimental branch of the open implementation of WinAPI \u2014 Wine 6.18 \u2014 has been released. Since the release of version 6.17, 19 bug reports have been closed and 485 changes have been made. <\/p>\n

Bug reports related to the operation of the following applications have been closed: Far Manager 2.0, Melodyne 5, ID Photo Maker 3.2, Thai2English, Windows ISO Downloader 8.45, Click-N-Type 3.03. <\/ul>\n
At the same time, the release of the Wine Staging 6.18 project has been formed, which compiles extended Wine builds that include incomplete or risky patches, currently unsuitable for acceptance into the main Wine branch. Compared to Wine, Wine Staging provides 616 additional patches. <\/p>\n
In this release, synchronization with the Wine codebase 6.18 has been performed. 7 patches related to ntoskrnl.exe, IRP, unixfs support in shell32, and the implementation of the functions K32GetModuleBaseNameW, K32GetModuleInformation, and K32GetModuleBaseNameA have been transferred to the main Wine body. 4 patches have been added for the possibility of integrating Token objects into sapi and supporting the functions FltBuildDefaultSecurityDescriptor and ISpObjectToken-CreateInstance. The plat-streaming-support patch has been updated. <\/p>\n
Additionally, it is worth noting the announcement by Epic Games regarding the implementation of Linux support in the Easy Anti-Cheat anti-cheat system. Support is implemented for both native Linux builds and games running using Wine and Proton layers, which will help solve launch issues in Wine\/Proton for Windows builds of games with the anti-cheat enabled.
