The Qt Company has released the Qt 6.2 framework, continuing work on stabilizing and enhancing the functionality of the Qt 6 branch. Qt 6.2 provides support for Windows 10, macOS 10.14+, Linux (Ubuntu 20.04+, CentOS 8.1+, openSUSE 15.1+), iOS 13+, Android (API 23+), webOS, INTEGRITY, and QNX platforms. The source code for Qt components is provided under LGPLv3 and GPLv2 licenses. Qt 6.2 has received LTS release status, under which updates will be available for commercial license users for three years (for others, updates will be published for six months leading up to the next significant release). <\/p>\n
The Qt 6.2 branch is noted as achieving parity with Qt 5.15 in terms of module composition and is suitable for migration from Qt 5 for most users. Key improvements in Qt 6.2 primarily concern the inclusion of modules that were available in Qt 5.15 but were not ready for inclusion in the Qt 6.0 and 6.1 releases. Qt Quick 3D has introduced an optimized rendering mode called 'Instanced Rendering,' which allows for the rendering of multiple instances of the same object with different transformations. A 3D Particles API has been added to incorporate effects created by large collections of particles (such as smoke, fog, etc.) into 3D scenes. It is now possible to create Qt Quick Input events for 2D elements embedded in 3D scenes and textures. An API for determining model intersections with a ray originating from any point in the scene has also been added.

A public QML Module CMake API has been proposed to simplify the process of creating custom QML modules. The capabilities of the qmllint utility (QML linter) have been expanded, with added support for generating validation reports in JSON format. The qmlformat utility now engages the QML dom library.\n
The architecture of the Qt Multimedia module has been modernized, introducing features such as subtitle and language selection during video playback, as well as enhanced settings for capturing multimedia content.\n
New methods for customizing charts have been added in Qt Charts.\n
QImage has added support for image formats that define color parameters as floating-point numbers.\n
In QByteArray::number(), correct handling of negative numbers in non-decimal numeral systems is ensured.\n
QLockFile has added support for std::chrono.\n
