The Chromium codebase has been updated to include the ability to block access to the built-in interface for viewing the source code of the current page. This blocking is implemented at the level of local policies set by the administrator, through the addition of the mask 'view-source:*' to the list of prohibited URLs, configurable via the URLBlocklist parameter. This change complements the previously existing option DeveloperToolsDisabled, which allows for restricting access to web development tools. <\/p>\n

The necessity of disabling the interface for viewing page code stems from the fact that resourceful students and schoolchildren use access to source texts to find correct answers while taking tests on educational web platforms that validate answers on the user's browser side. In particular, this method allows schoolchildren to bypass tests based on the Google Forms platform. Notably, blocking 'view-source:*' does not fully resolve the issue, as students still have the option to save the page via the 'Save as...' menu to later search for answers in another program.
