The release of the Q4OS 4.7 distribution has been published, based on the Debian package base and supplied with KDE Plasma 5 and Trinity desktops. The distribution is positioned as resource-friendly while offering a classic desktop layout. It includes several proprietary applications, including 'Desktop profiler' for quick installation of themed software packages, 'Setup utility' for installing third-party applications, and 'Welcome Screen' for easier initial setup, as well as scripts for installing alternative environments such as LXQT, Xfce, and LXDE. The size of the bootable image is 1.3 GB (x86_64). 32-bit builds (with and without PAE) will be published later. A port for ARM systems is also in development. <\/p>\n

In the new release, the package base has been synchronized with Debian 11.1. The Trinity desktop has been updated to version 14.0.11. Improved support for the simultaneous independent installation of KDE Plasma and Trinity environments, with the possibility to switch between them. The capabilities of the Desktop profiler utility have been expanded, allowing users to create and load user profiles, which can for example transfer the list of used programs and existing settings to new computers (the user can set up a fresh system from scratch and then apply their profile to obtain an environment with previously used packages). <\/p>\n
