Valve has released the Proton 6.3-8 project update, which is based on the developments of the Wine project and aims to enable the launch of gaming applications designed for Windows on Linux, as listed in the Steam catalog. The developments of the project are distributed under a BSD license. <\/p>\n
Proton allows you to run gaming applications available only for Windows directly in the Steam Linux client. The package includes implementations of DirectX 9\/10\/11 (based on the DXVK package) and DirectX 12 (based on vkd3d-proton), which work by translating DirectX calls to the Vulkan API. It provides improved game controller support and the ability to use fullscreen mode regardless of the screen resolutions supported by the games. To enhance the performance of multi-threaded games, it supports the mechanisms of 'esync' (Eventfd Synchronization) and 'futex\/fsync'. <\/p>\n

Support has been added for certain games with the BattlEye anti-cheat system, such as \"Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord\" and \"ARK: Survival Evolved.\"\n
Compatibility with games using Valve's CEG DRM (Custom Executable-Generation) protection mechanism has been improved.\n
For games using DX11 and DX12 graphics APIs, support for DLSS technology has been implemented, enabling the use of NVIDIA graphics card Tensor cores for realistic image scaling through machine learning methods to increase resolution without quality loss. Setting the environment variable \"PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1\" and the parameter \"dxgi.nvapiHack = False\" is required for operation.\n
Support for the new version of the Steamworks SDK has been added.\n
Updated versions of dxvk 1.9.2-13-g714ca482, wine-mono 6.4.1, and vkd3d-proton 2.5-50-g0251b404.\n
