Users of various Russian providers have reported difficulties connecting to the anonymous network Tor in recent days when accessing the internet through different providers and mobile operators. The blockade is primarily observed in Moscow when connecting via providers such as MTS, Rostelecom, Akado, Tele2, Yota, Beeline, and MegaFon. Isolated reports of the blockade are also coming from users in St. Petersburg, Ufa, and Yekaterinburg. In Tyumen, connecting to Tor via Beeline and Rostelecom is proceeding without issues. <\/p>\n

The blockade manifests when attempting to connect to any Tor Directory Authority servers, which are the connection points to the network responsible for authentication and providing users with a list of gateways processing traffic. It is also impossible to establish connections using obfs4 and snowflake transports, but it is possible to connect by manually specifying hidden bridge nodes requested via bridges.torproject.org or email.
