Qt Company has released the first version of the Qt Digital Advertising platform to simplify monetization for application development based on the Qt library. The platform provides a cross-platform Qt module with a QML API for embedding ads into application interfaces and delivering them similarly to how ad blocks are inserted into mobile applications. The interface for simplifying the insertion of ad blocks is designed as plugins for Qt Design Studio and Qt Creator. <\/p>\n
The main goal of the project is to provide developers of desktop and mobile Qt applications with an additional business model that allows them to secure funding through ad displays without resorting to selling paid versions. The platform may also prove useful for creators of specialized embedded solutions, for instance, ad displays can be integrated into internet kiosks, gaming machines, and information stands based on Qt. Advertising campaigns can be managed either through direct interaction with advertisers or by connecting to a common advertising network where advertisers compete for ad placement based on the proposed placement costs.
