An experimental release of the open implementation of the Win32 API \u2014 Wine 7.1 has taken place. Since the launch of 7.0, 42 bug reports have been closed and 408 changes have been made. It\u2019s worth noting that starting from the 2.x branch, the Wine project switched to a version numbering scheme where each stable release increments the first digit of the version number (6.0.0, 7.0.0), while updates to stable releases are released with changes to the third digit (7.0.1, 7.0.2, 7.0.3). Experimental versions, which are developed in preparation for the next significant release, are released with changes to the second digit (7.1, 7.2, 7.3). <\/p>\n

Bug reports related to the operation of games have been closed: Age of Empires 3, Final Fantasy 7, Arx Fatalis, Rising Kingdoms, Far Cry 5, X3 Albion Prelude, Gothic 1, WRC 7, Project CARS 2, Sekiro.\n
Bug reports related to the operation of applications have been closed: TeamViewer 15.x, Word 2003, WinOffice Pro 5.3, Freeoffice, Siemens SIMATIC STEP 7, Netbeans 6.x, eRightSoft SUPER v2009-b35, Peachtree Pro Accounting 2007, 7-zip. <\/ul>\n
Additionally, the release of the Wine Staging project 7.1 can be noted, within which extended builds of Wine are formed, including not fully ready or risky patches that are not yet suitable for acceptance in the main Wine branch. Compared to Wine, Wine Staging provides 561 additional patches. <\/p>\n
In the new release, synchronization with the Wine 7.1 codebase has been carried out. Three patches related to the implementation of callback notifications in xactengine, the addition of WSAIoctl SIO_IDEAL_SEND_BACKLOG_QUERY in ws2_32, and the employment of dynamically indexable (bindless) textures for GLSL shaders in wined3d have been transferred to the main Wine composition. The patch for supporting NVIDIA CUDA has been updated. <\/p>\n
Also published is the release of the DXVK 1.9.4 layer, providing an implementation of DXGI (DirectX Graphics Infrastructure), Direct3D 9, 10, and 11, which works through API call translation to Vulkan. DXVK can be used to run 3D applications and games on Linux using Wine, serving as a higher-performance alternative to the integrated Wine implementations of Direct3D 9\/10\/11, which run on top of OpenGL. <\/p>\n

By default, strict emulation mode for floating-point calculations in D3D9 is activated on systems with future versions of the RADV Vulkan driver, which improves accuracy and performance in rendering.\n
Improved memory distribution and reduced memory usage in games that utilize multiple processes or D3D devices.\n
Resolved an issue with video memory usage on NVIDIA GPUs with RBAR (Resizable BAR) when enabling the dxvk.shrinkNvidiaHvvHeap setting.\n
Removed the deprecated option to disable OpenVR.\n
Performance optimizations have been enabled and support for DLSS realistic scaling technology has been added for the game God of War. <\/ul>\n
