Notable distribution-specific design features include a vertical panel on the right side of the screen. The distribution develops with a nod to Arch Linux but supports its own independent repository containing over 1500 packages and offers a range of its own graphical utilities. The default file system is XFS. Builds are published for x86_64 systems (3 GB).     <center><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Release of KaOS 2022.02 Distribution\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/59631dbf8ac4b95e194a37e3d41821b4.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/center>    <\/p>\n<p>In the new release:   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\">  By default, a KDE session based on the Wayland protocol is used.\n<li class=\"l\"> Desktop components have been updated to KDE Plasma 5.24, KDE Frameworks 5.91.0, KDE Gear 21.12.2, and Qt 6.2.3 (there is also an option for Qt 5.15.3, accompanied by the KDE project).
