The team responsible for account management in the Debian project has downgraded Norbert Preining's status due to inappropriate behavior on the closed mailing list debian-private. In response, Norbert has decided to cease his involvement in the Debian development and join the Arch Linux community. Norbert has been involved in Debian development since 2005, maintaining around 150 packages, primarily related to KDE and LaTex. <\/p>\n
It appears that the reason for the downgrade was a conflict with Martina Ferrari, who maintains 37 packages, including the net-tools package and components of the Prometheus monitoring system. Norbert's way of communicating, which did not restrain his expressions, was perceived by Martina as sexism and a violation of the community's code of conduct.
