The release of Lakka 4.1 has taken place, allowing computers, set-top boxes, or single-board computers to be transformed into a full-fledged gaming console for running retro games. The project is a modification of the LibreELEC distribution, originally designed for creating home theaters. Lakka builds are available for i386, x86_64 (Intel, NVIDIA, or AMD GPUs), Raspberry Pi 1-4, Orange Pi, Banana Pi, Hummingboard, Cubox-i, Odroid C1\/C1+\/XU3\/XU4, and more. To install, it is enough to write the distribution to an SD card or USB drive, connect a gamepad, and boot the system. <\/p>\n
At the core of Lakka lies the RetroArch gaming console emulator, which enables the emulation of a wide range of devices and supports advanced features such as multiplayer gaming, save states, enhancement of old game graphics using shaders, rewind functionality, gamepad hot-plugging, and video streaming. Emulated consoles include: Atari 2600\/7800\/Jaguar\/Lynx, Game Boy, Mega Drive, NES, Nintendo 64\/DS, PCEngine, PSP, Sega 32X\/CD, SuperNES, and more. Gamepads from existing consoles are supported, including Playstation 3, Dualshock 3, 8bitdo, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. <\/p>\n

RetroArch has been updated to version 1.10.2.\n
Versions of emulators and game engines have been updated. New engines included are: race (Neo-Geo Pocket), bk-emulator (BK-0010\/0011\/Terak 8510a), same_cdi (Philips CD-i), and mame (MAME Project). The duckstation engine (Sony Playstation) has been removed.\n
Necessary system files for standalone engines have been added, which eliminates the need for manual addition. The system file loader has been disabled, as such files are now included in the package and available in the system directory. Required files for the engines cannonball, dinothawr, dolphin, ecwolf, fbneo, mame2003-plus, mame, nxengine, ppsspp, prboom, scummvm, uae4arm, and xrick have been added.\n
Bluetooth device pairing management has been improved.\n
Package versions have been updated, including Mesa 22.0.1, Linux kernel 5.10.109 (PC, Amlogic, Allwinner, NXP) and 5.10.103 (Raspberry Pi).\n
Performance on systems with NVIDIA graphics cards has been enhanced.\n
Support for USB interface Wi-Fi adapters has been added \u2014 ASUS BT500 and TP-Link UB500.\n
The Python library RPi.GPIO has been added to the builds for Raspberry Pi. <\/ul>\n
