The experimental release of the open implementation of WinAPI \u2014 Wine 7.10 has taken place. Since the release of version 7.9, 56 bug reports have been closed and 388 changes have been made. <\/p>\n

The macOS driver has been transitioned to use the PE (Portable Executable) format instead of ELF.\n
The Wine Mono engine with the .NET platform implementation has been updated to release 7.3.\n
Windows-compatible locale properties 'Collation' for Unicode have been implemented, allowing the definition of sorting rules and comparison methods that consider the meaning of characters (for example, in the presence of diacritical marks).\n
Support for WoW64 (64-bit Windows-on-Windows) has been implemented in the Secur32 library, a layer for running 32-bit applications on 64-bit Windows.\n

Additionally, it is worth noting the formation of the Wine Staging 7.10 release, within which enhanced Wine builds are created, including not fully ready or risky patches that are not yet suitable for acceptance into the main Wine branch. Compared to Wine, Wine Staging offers 545 additional patches. <\/p>\n
The new release has been synchronized with the Wine 7.10 codebase. Six patches related to the implementation of sortkey tables and the CompareString function in KERNELBASE.dll, necessary for supporting the 'Collation' locale property, have been integrated into the main Wine code. Additionally, two patches have been added to dwmapi.dll to implement default values for DwmGetCompositionTimingInfo, required to launch the Epic Games Launcher, and to resolve an issue with the DwmFlush call that was causing PowerShell to crash. <\/p>\n
In addition, Valve has begun testing the candidate release of the Proton project 7.0-3, which is based on the developments of the Wine project and aims to enable the launch of gaming applications created for Windows on Linux, available in the Steam catalog. The project developments are distributed under the BSD license. The new version features support for rebuilding the xinput controller on Steam Deck devices, improved recognition of gaming wheels, updated versions of Wine Mono 7.3.0, dxvk 1.10.1-57-g279b4b7e, and dxvk-nvapi 0.5.4, and support for the following games: <\/p>\n
