His new employer is Microsoft, where Lennart will also be involved in the development of systemd.    <\/p>\n<p>Microsoft uses systemd in its CBL-Mariner distribution, which is being developed as a universal base platform for Linux environments utilized in cloud infrastructure, edge systems, and various Microsoft services.     <\/p>\n<p>In addition to Lennart, Microsoft has also hired several prominent figures in open-source software, including Guido van Rossum (the creator of Python), Miguel de Icaza (creator of GNOME, Midnight Commander, and Mono), Steve Coast (founder of OpenStreetMap), Steve French (maintainer of the CIFS\/SMB3 subsystem in the Linux kernel), and Ross Gardler (Vice President of the Apache Foundation).
