The Eclipse community has introduced the Jakarta EE 10 platform. Jakarta EE succeeded Java EE (Java Platform, Enterprise Edition) following the transfer of specification development processes, TCK, and reference implementation to the non-profit organization Eclipse Foundation. The platform continued to evolve under its new name as Oracle only handed over the technologies and project management but did not transfer the rights to use the Java trademark to the Eclipse community. <\/p>\n

One of the key innovations in Jakarta EE 10 is the inclusion of capabilities for building Java applications that align with the Cloud native paradigm. A new Core profile has been proposed, offering a subset of Jakarta EE specifications for developing lightweight Java applications and microservices, along with CDI-Lite, a streamlined version of the CDI (Contexts and Dependency Injection) component. Specifications for over 20 Jakarta EE components have been updated, including CDI 4.0, RESTful Web Services 3.1, Security 3.0, Servlet 6.0, Faces (JSF) 4.0, JSON Binding (JSON-B) 3.0, and Persistence.
