The release of exfatprogs 1.2.0 has been published, which enhances the official set of Linux utilities for creating and checking the exFAT file system, replacing the outdated exfat-utils package and accompanying the new exFAT driver built into the Linux kernel (available since kernel version 5.7). The set includes utilities such as mkfs.exfat, fsck.exfat, tune.exfat, exfatlabel, dump.exfat, and exfat2img. The code is written in C and is distributed under the GPLv2 license. <\/p>\n
The new release features the implementation of damage recovery capabilities in the fsck.exfat utility for the exFAT file system (previously, functionality was limited to detecting issues) and support for bypassing files in directories with a damaged structure. The fsck.exfat utility also includes new options: 'b' for restoring the boot sector and 's' for creating lost files in the '\/LOST+FOUND' directory.
