The release of the free documentation system GNU Texinfo 7.0 has been presented, originally developed by Richard Stallman and used for preparing documentation for GNU projects. The new release significantly expands the capabilities of the texi2any utility, addressing encoding issues and implementing the options \u2014latex and \u2014epub3 for output in LaTeX and EPUB 3 formats, as well as greatly improving HTML output support. New commands @latex, @iflatex, and @ifnotlatex have been added for LaTeX format output.
