The development of the openSUSE Leap 15.5 distribution has entered the beta testing stage. The release is based on the core package set, shared with SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 SP 5, and also includes some user applications from the openSUSE Tumbleweed repository. A universal DVD image, sized at 4.3 GB (x86_64, aarch64, ppc64les, 390x), is available for download. The release of openSUSE Leap 15.4 is expected in early June 2023. <\/p>\n

Changes in openSUSE Leap 15.5 include the update of KDE Plasma 5.27, Python 3.10, and mdadm 4.2. The graphics stack and Mesa have been updated. The repository for installing the OpenH264 video codec is enabled by default. The Linux kernel version remains unchanged (5.14.21). A quick migration feature to the new version from previous releases has been added.
