GitHub has forcefully and without prior notice transitioned the IPMI Tool project repositories to an archive mode, allowing read-only access. All repositories of Alexander Amelkin, the maintainer of ipmitool, have also been switched to read-only mode. The ipmitool package is included in RHEL, SUSE, Debian, and other Linux distributions, and is the most widely used open-source command-line tool for managing, monitoring, and configuring servers with BMC controllers that support the IPMI (Intelligent Platform Management Interface) standard. <\/p>\n
The restriction was imposed without an explanation, but unofficial information suggests that the reason for these limitations is that Alexander is employed by Yadro, which was included in the US blocking sanctions list at the end of February.
