The release of package ppp 2.5.0 has been published, implementing support for the PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol), which allows establishing an IPv4\/IPv6 communication channel using connections through serial ports or point-to-point connections (for example, dial-up). The package includes the background process pppd, used for negotiating connections, authentication, and configuring the network interface, as well as auxiliary utilities pppstats and pppdump. The project code is distributed under the BSD license. Official support for Linux and Solaris is provided in the package (without support, code is available for NeXTStep, FreeBSD, SunOS 4.x, SVR4, Tru64, AIX, and Ultrix). <\/p>\n
