The release of Chrome OS 114 is available, based on the Linux kernel, with the upstart system manager, ebuild\/portage build tools, open components, and Chrome browser 114. The user environment of Chrome OS is limited to the web browser, and traditional applications are replaced by web applications. However, Chrome OS includes a full-fledged multi-window interface, a desktop, and a taskbar. The source code is distributed under the Apache 2.0 license. Chrome OS 114 is available for most current Chromebook models. A version called Chrome OS Flex is offered for use on regular computers. <\/p>\n

A separate page has been added to the ChromeOS Settings for selecting audio devices and adjusting volume and microphone settings.

Support for floating windows has been added, which can be layered or pinned above other windows. For example, a notes application can be opened in a floating window while watching a lecture. The floating mode can be activated through the current window layout menu, the keyboard shortcut Search + Z, or a screen gesture down from the center top of the window.\n
The App Streaming feature has been added for streaming windows of applications running on Android devices to the Chrome OS screen.

The Explore app for the built-in help system (formerly Get Help) has added the \"App and games\" tab, providing an overview of new popular apps and games for Chromebook.\n
It is now possible to use shared albums hosted in Google Photos as a source for setting desktop wallpapers or screen savers.\n
Support for seamless connections to wireless networks secured using Passpoint technology (Hotspot 2.0) has been added, eliminating the need to search for the network and authenticate every time one connects (the first login is remembered based on location, allowing subsequent connections to occur automatically).\n
For centrally managed systems, support for mandatory extensions that operate in incognito mode without the option for users to disable them has been added.\n
A version of the game Minecraft has been introduced for Chrome OS.\n
Seven vulnerabilities have been fixed, including buffer overflows in the functions rewrite_1d_image_coordinate and set_stream_out_varyings, use-after-free memory access in the functions vrend_draw_bind_abo_shader and sampler_state, a race condition in the function amdgpu_ttm_tt_get_user_pages, bypassing wireless debugging restrictions in the adb utility, and the ability to execute unsigned code through a modified version of the RMA shim. <\/ul>\n
