The ninth release of starter kits on the Tenth ALT platform has been published. The builds based on the stable repository are intended for experienced users. Most starter kits are live builds that feature available graphical desktop environments and window managers (DE\/WM) for ALT operating systems. If necessary, the system can be installed from these live builds. The next planned update is scheduled for September 12, 2023. <\/p>\n
Starter kits are available for x86_64, i586, and aarch64 architectures. The builds are based on Linux kernel versions 5.10.179 and 6.1.32; various options are applied in some images. For different architectures, the kernel build options are also listed separately. <\/p>\n
Changes in the ninth release: <\/p>\n

The new version of the Plymouth boot splash screen features a launch animation that now works with an active serial console (including the ability to ignore the serial console), and activates a fallback logo when the manufacturer's logo is unavailable (BGRT \u2014 Boot Graphics Record Table).\n
The release of Engineering and linuxcnc-rt images has been suspended. Previous versions are available from the archive. The release will resume on p11.\n
The rootfs build with the rpi kernel has been discontinued, as the un-def-6.1 kernel fully supports the Raspberry Pi 4. <\/ul>\n
