The second corrective update for the Debian 12 distribution has been released, which includes accumulated package updates and fixes in the installer. This release includes 117 updates addressing stability issues and 52 updates correcting vulnerabilities. <\/p>\n

Notable changes in Debian 12.2 include updates to the latest stable versions of packages such as clamav, dbus, dpdk, gtk+3.0, mariadb, mutt, nvidia-settings, openssl, qemu, rar, roundcube, samba, and systemd. The https-everywhere package has been removed as this browser extension has been declared obsolete by developers due to similar functionality being integrated into major browsers. <\/p>\n

Installation packages with Debian 12.2 will be prepared for download and installation from \"scratch\" in the coming hours. Systems installed previously and maintained up to date receive updates present in Debian 12.2 through the standard update installation system. Security fixes included in new Debian releases are available to users as updates are released through the service security.debian.org. <\/p>\n

A new release of the previous stable branch, Debian 11.8, is also available, which includes 94 updates addressing stability issues and 115 updates correcting vulnerabilities. The following packages have been removed from the repository: atlas-cpp, ember-media, eris, libwfut, mercator, nomad, nomad-driver-lxc, skstream, varconf, and wfmath due to the abandoned or unstable status of their core projects. Updated to the latest stable versions are packages such as clamav, dbus, dkimpy, dpdk, mariadb-10.5, nvidia-graphics-drivers, openssl, rar, rust-cbindgen, rustc-mozilla, and xen.
