Oracle has published a patch release for the VirtualBox virtualization system, version 7.0.12, which includes 24 fixes. At the same time, an update for the previous branch, VirtualBox 6.1.48, has been formed with 9 changes, including support for Linux kernels 6.5 and 6.6-rc, support for kernel packages from OpenSUSE 15.5, enhancements for Linux kernel 6.4, and fixes for kernel packages from RHEL 8.9 and 9.3. <\/p>\n

The additions for guest systems based on Linux have added support for the Linux 6.5 kernel, currently in development of kernel branch 6.6, and the kernel package from OpenSUSE 15.5 distribution. Fixes have been made to improve performance in systems with the Linux 6.4 kernel and in distributions RHEL 8.9 and 9.3.\n
In add-ons for hosts and guest systems based on Linux, the output of version information has been added when executing the commands 'rcvboxadd status-kernel' and 'rcvboxadd status-user'. Errors that led to the kernel issuing 'field-spanning write' warnings have been fixed.\n
Support for automated installation using kickstart files has been added in Oracle Linux 8 and 9.\n
On Linux hosts, the detection of split locks has been improved using the Split Lock Detection mechanism in Intel CPUs.\n
Additional subtypes of Linux operating systems have been added.\n
