Support for background file system checking using snapshot mechanisms has been added; this feature works on systems using soft updates.<\/li>\n
Check hashes for superblocks, cylinder group headers, and inodes are now computed to facilitate damage detection; the code implementing this functionality, as well as the code for searching backup superblocks, has been moved from the user utility fsck_ffs to the libufs library.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
