The developers of the LLVM project have approved the transition to a new version numbering scheme. Similar to the GCC and GDB projects, the zero release (\"N.0\") in each new branch will be used during the development process, while the first stable version will be labeled as \"N.1.\" This change will help separate builds based on the ongoing development branch (mainline) from those of the branch with final releases. <\/p>\n
For instance, when preparing the upcoming release, development will take place using the unstable LLVM 18.0 branch, and the first stable release will come out with the number 18.1.0. If necessary, corrective releases will be generated every two weeks under the numbers 18.1.1, 18.1.2, and so on.
