The release of the Lutris 0.5.15 gaming platform has been published, providing tools to simplify the installation, configuration, and management of games on Linux. The project code is written in Python and is distributed under the GPLv3 license. <\/p>\n
The project supports a catalog for quick searching and installation of gaming applications, allowing users to launch games on Linux with a single click through a unified interface, without worrying about dependency installations and settings. The runtime components required for game execution are provided by the project and are not tied to the distribution used. The runtime is a distribution-independent set of libraries, including components from SteamOS and Ubuntu, as well as various additional libraries. <\/p>\n
It allows for the installation of games distributed through services like GOG, Steam, Epic Games Store, Battle.net, Amazon Games, Origin, and Uplay. Lutris itself acts only as an intermediary and does not sell games, so for commercial titles, users must purchase the game from the respective service (free games can be launched with one click from the Lutris graphical interface). <\/p>\n
Each game in Lutris is associated with a loading script and handler describing the environment for launching the game. Ready-made profiles with optimal settings for running games under Wine are also provided. In addition to Wine, games can be launched using console emulators such as RetroArch, Dosbox, FS-UAE, ScummVM, MESS\/MAME, and Dolphin. <\/p>\n

The call to load runtime components has been ensured from the main window, instead of a pop-up dialog during startup.\n
The file chooser widget now supports navigating to the directory view in the file browser.\n
The Lutris window with the game list now allows the selection, deletion, and stopping of multiple games at once.\n
The design of the game uninstallation dialog has been changed, with the full uninstallation mode enabled by default.\n
By default, deleted game files and launch scripts are moved to the recycle bin.\n
The import and export functions have been improved.\n
Animation has been added when launching a game.\n
A setting has been added to disable automatic Wine updates.\n
In the game settings, the ability to edit game time has been provided.\n
Game time information synchronization with the Steam service has been ensured.\n
The settings now include tabs for checking updates ( «Updates») and managing cache location («Storage»). System information displayed in the «System» tab has been expanded.\n
For games launched using Wine, the «Run Task Manager» command has been added.\n
For games from itch.io, support for two smaller banner sizes has been added.\n
Issues causing crashes when using Wayland and high-DPI gaming mice have been resolved.\n
A crash that occurred when opening the settings tab for the game has been fixed. <\/ul>\n
