Builds have also been removed from rsync, and the build logic has been removed from lbmk. It was found that this motherboard has a fan control failure when using the trimmed Intel ME image. This issue appears to affect only these old Arrandale machines; the problem was detected on the X201 but likely affects the ThinkPad T410 and other laptops.<\/p>\n
This issue does not affect new platforms, only Arrandale\/Ibex Peak machines such as the ThinkPad X201. The X201 uses Intel ME version 6. Versions 7 and higher did not reveal any issues with trimming.<\/p>\n
Using Libreboot on this platform is not recommended. Using coreboot is still possible, but it requires the full Intel ME image. Therefore, support will no longer be available in Libreboot. The project's policy is to provide only configurations without ME or a neutral ME configuration using me_cleaner.<\/p>\n
It is recommended to simply use another machine. Arrandale machines are now considered broken (in the context of the core boot) by the Libreboot project, and they will not be supported by Libreboot unless further testing is conducted and this issue is resolved. The removal was done urgently for the sake of user security.<\/p>\n
