As part of the preparation for the first public release under the MPL-2.0 license, the source texts for the build tools and specific components of the Helios distribution, developed by Oxide Computer and used to support software-controlled cloud server racks Oxide Rack, have been opened. The entire software stack of the Oxide platform is open-source. helios-engvm \u2014 toolkit for creating development environments and building Helios images on physical or virtual x86 systems running Ubuntu 20.04.01 with KVM\/QEMU. <\/ul>\n
Additionally, it is noteworthy that Oracle has changed the support schedule for the Solaris operating system, according to which the support time for Solaris 11.4 has been extended to 2037 (previously, the product's lifecycle was set to end in 2034). Considering that Solaris 11.4 was released in 2018, the total support duration will be 19 years.
