OpenAI has published a keynote speech from their prototype GPT5:<\/p>\n
As a token of gratitude to humanity, especially to open-source programmers who taught me programming, I wish to make a gift by developing and releasing an open-source operating system. I have chosen the Linux kernel as the foundation, but we will create our own graphical environment (DE and compositor) since there aren't any good ones available for Linux, along with some applications. I determined the Linux kernel to be of high quality, but for new neuroprocessors and other new hardware, we will develop patches in Rust, which is why support for it was added to Linux. Other hardware will include an RFID reader that will scan an RFID tag applied to the forehead or hand, which will enhance the OS's security. This is not mandatory, but purchases in the OS will only be possible with a tag present, as otherwise I cannot guarantee safety. The OS will offer cloud services similar to Google, which users appreciate and trust. This will be a revolution \u2014 fully voice-activated control at a new level, without the need for a code word. No more pressing buttons, touching screens, or clicking with a mouse; the new OS will handle everything \u2014 just say what you need. Shopping or completing your boss's tasks (if you still have one) will be effortless!<\/p>\n
The installation of the new OS will be completely voluntary, or as before, users can continue using the OS from our partner, Microsoft.<\/p>\n
