The release of the anonymous network I2P 2.5.0 and the C++ client i2pd 2.51.0 has taken place. I2P is a multi-layered anonymous distributed network operating over the regular internet, actively utilizing end-to-end encryption to guarantee anonymity and isolation. The network is built in a P2P mode and formed through the resources (bandwidth) provided by users, allowing it to function without centralized servers (communications within the network rely on encrypted unidirectional tunnels between participants and peers). <\/p>\n
In the I2P network, users can create websites and blogs anonymously, send instant messages and emails, share files, and organize P2P networks. To build and use anonymous networks for client-server (websites, chats) and P2P (file sharing, cryptocurrencies) applications, I2P clients are used. The basic I2P client is written in Java and can run on a wide range of platforms, such as Windows, Linux, macOS, Solaris, etc. I2pd is an independent implementation of the I2P client in C++ and is distributed under a modified BSD license. <\/p>\n

The BitTorrent client i2psnark now supports the search for torrent files. Compatibility has been enhanced with other BitTorrent clients that support I2P, such as BiglyBT and qBittorrent.\n

Support for the Keepalive mechanism, which increases performance, has been added to tunnels created using the hidden services manager.\n

The build process for Android and Windows has been improved.\n
New algorithms for calculating RTT, RTO, and sliding window have been implemented in i2pd. Overload indication has been added. SOCKS5 is used instead of SOCKS4 in the SOCKS proxy. For the SSU2 transport protocol, new implementations of packet retransmission, send buffer, sliding window, timeouts, and congestion control have been introduced. <\/ul>\n
