Nxs-data-anonymizer 1.6.0 has been released \u2014 a tool for anonymizing PostgreSQL and MySQL\/MariaDB\/Percona database dumps. The tool is written in Go and is released under the Apache License 2.0. <\/p>\n

The utility supports data anonymization based on patterns and functions from the Sprig library. Nxs-data-anonymizer can be used through unnamed pipes in the command line to redirect a dump from the source database directly to the target database with the necessary transformations. It is possible to work with 'null' values using a function in filters. The -l\/\u2014log-format command has been implemented, allowing you to select the logging format (json or plain). The anonymization process can be indexed \u2014 progress data regarding the operation's execution is output at specified intervals. By using external commands through adding to the column value 'type: command', field values can be specified. <\/p>\n

The new version introduces a feature that allows you to activate the safe mode of nxs-data-anonymizer, in which all explicitly undefined data will be excluded from the resulting dump. Depending on the type of entities in the security settings, the tool anonymizes columns for tables with rules described in the filters section. If the table has no rules, the data will still be safe, as the anonymizer will not include them in the resulting dump. <\/p>\n

Original information in the columns will appear in the output only if the table name is specified in security.exceptions.tables. Thus, dynamically evolving projects with frequently changing database structures will be protected even if the developer forgets to adjust the anonymizer's configuration file.
